Quidditch

Quidditch is the most avidly followed game in the magical world. It is regulated by the International Association of Quidditch, a branch of the Department of Magical Games of Sports. It is exciting, fast paced, and while deaths are rare, trained mediwizards are required to attend every game.

To play a game of Quidditch, two teams must be created. Each team must have three Chasers, one Seeker, two Beaters, and one Keeper to play.

Chasers throw a Quaffle, or a leather ball, into a hoop that is guarded by the Keeper to score points. Beaters carry bats that have been created to hit Bludgers, a small but dangerous ball that can cause a flier to fall off their broom. The golden Snitch is considered the most important ball of all and is sought after by the two Seekers.

While the Quaffle can obtain ten points for each successful one handed throw through a hoop, the capture of a Snitch helps a team receive one hundred fifty points. The capture of the Snitch also ends the game. The team that captures the Snitch is not the winner; Quidditch game winners are determined by the team that has the most amount of points. The winner of the House Cup, and possibly the World Cup, is not the team that has won the most games but the team with the most collective points.

There are many fouls in Quidditch but the most common ones are
Blagging: when any player grabs another player's broom in a pathetic attempt to slow the broom
Blatching: when any player purposely flies into another player
Bumping: when a beater hits a Bludger into the crowd, causing the referee to temporarily stop the game. This may prevent a Chaser from scoring.

All games are monitored by the Flying Professor who acts as a referee. The season cannot start until all teams are complete.
