The train to Hogwarts seemed like any other year - delicious pumpkin juice, the occasional puff of smoke from an overeager second year, naps from sixth years still exhausted from O.W.L.s last year, and last minute scrawling of summer work left incomplete. The sorting ceremony saw a plethora of new students across all four houses. And classes began with little uproar. It seemed that Hogwarts continued on despite the outside world.
But the world outside is not so pleasant. Grindelwald has been gaining followers steadily for several years and recent speculation is that he has infiltrated the Ministry. The Muggles are entrenched in a war of their own that has left areas of London destroyed and hundreds dead. For once, muggle discord is affecting the lives of the magical world. Muggleborns and Halfbloods alike live in constant fear of attack, either from bombings or from the systematic attack of the prejudiced.
At Hogwarts, students are supposed to be safe. Protected, growing, learning in an environment that is committed to keeping them alive. So far, it has. But someone has arrived at Hogwarts with a different idea and he finally has the means to accomplish his goals.
Mors Exordium is a Riddle-Era rp based in 1942, Tom Riddle’s fifth year - the year he managed to open the Chamber of Secrets and unleash the horror within. Students will be petrified, others may die. And everyone will be searching for the culprit.
